Master Automotive Technician

Pedder Nissan is looking for Master Automotive Technicians to join our team at our dealership in Hemet, CA.  Master Technicians are tasked with repairing the most challenging and time-sensitive problems that vehicles have when they arrive at the service department.  As a Master Tech you will also be responsible for assisting less experienced technicians with difficult repairs and speaking to customers about complicated repairs.

Job Requirements

• Must have at least 5 years experience as an automotive technician.
• Must hold at least 5 (all 8 preferred) up-to-date Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications.
• Must have working knowledge of shop equipment, such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment system, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc.
• Must have a valid California Driver's License.
• Nissan certification preferred.

The Duties of a Master Technician include:

• Conferring with customers or service advisors to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems and to discuss work to be performed and future repair requirements.
• Testing and adjusting repaired systems to meet manufacturers' performance specifications.
• Performing quality inspections of vehicle repairs prior to returning the vehicle to the customer.
• Diagnosing, maintaining and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, air conditioning, etc.
• Communication directly with the service advisor so that the customers can be informed if any additional services is needed.  Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
• Test driving vehicles and testing components and systems using equipment such as infrared engine analyzers, compression gauges and computerized diagnostic devices.
• Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
